Bowler

It’s hard to say what was more impressive with the Lions on Tuesday night. Was it their offense, or their defense?

Offensively, they shot 51.8% from the floor, 50.0% from three-point land and had 20 assists on their 29 makes.

Defensively, they didn’t give up a single field goal after the first quarter.

Either way, Lynden showed its dominance once again, and sophomore guard Finley Parcher was in on a little bit of everything as she was 10-for-16 from the floor, 3-of-4 from downtown, scored 23 points, while also collecting six rebounds, six steals and three assists.

Junior guard Degitu Bowler enjoyed a career-nigh as she came off the bench to score 17 points, which included hitting five of her seven 3-point attempts.

Junior forward Payton Mills added 12 points, six rebounds and six assists.

Mack

The Blackhawks scored three points 12 seconds into the game on a deep ball from junior Ailina Rabang. The Chargers scored their third point on a foul shot after the final buzzer. It was pure domination from beginning to end.

Rabang scored 18 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and blocked three shots to lead Lummi Nation, while junior Kashlyn Mack scored 17 points, and had five rebounds and five steals. Both players each shot 7-for-15 from the field.

Lummi Nation’s quick defense enabled 33 steals, with sophomore guard Jemma James grabbing 10 of them, and junior guard Brianna Metteba finished with eight. James also led her team with eight assists.

Fox

Defense and clutch shooting from the foul line allowed the Golden Eagles to get back onto the winning track at home against the Seahawks.

Ferndale totaled 17 steals, and made 11 of its 14 foul shots.

Junior forward Jilly Fox had a double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds, and also led the team with five steals, and junior guard Abbey White scored 13 points, which included going a perfect 8-for-8 from the foul line.

Junior guard Kayla Washington added seven points and sophomore guard Brooklyn Larrabee grabbed four steals.

Shumate

After a close first quarter, which ended with the Lyncs holding a 14-13 lead, Lynden Christian doubled up the Bulldogs 14-7 in the second quarter, and allowed just six points in the entire second half.

Senior forward Allison Shumate was tough inside as she led with 15 points on 6-of-11 shooting, and senior forward Alisa Scott came off the bench to score 12 points, half of which came from behind the 3-point line.

Senior guard Danya Dykstra added seven points, and led the team with six rebounds and five assists, and junior Sara VanLoo grabbed four steals as the Lyncs jumped to 2-0 on the season.

DeHoog

Junior center Grace DeHoog had 17 points and nine rebounds to lead the Pioneers, but it wasn’t enough as the mighty Wildcats showed why they are poised to have a huge season.

Nooksack Valley stayed with Archbishop Murphy throughout the first half, but the Wildcats pulled away quickly in the second half.

Senior guard Kate Shintaffer scored 12 points, and junior guards Payton Bartl and Chayleigh Davis had five points each.

Barge

Just 24 hours after a highly contested overtime game against Meridian, the Mariners struggled on the road against the 3A Spartans.

It was all Stanwood, which led 25-8 at the half, and didn’t allow a single Sehome point in the third quarter.

The Mariner offense struggled with the pressing Stanwood defense, and found it hard to get the ball inside.

Freshman point guard Taylor Turrell finished with six points and five rebounds, and junior center Aspen Barge had six points and five blocks to lead Sehome.
