The Mountaineers held a 23-9 halftime lead before defeating the Bayhawks at home.

Sophomore center Rebeca Soares had another big night with 25 points, 18 rebounds, four steals, three blocked shots and two assists to lead Mount Baker to its fourth victory of the season.

Morell

Junior forward Reace Brown continued her strong early season showing with nine points and nine rebounds, and senior guard Faith Wilson added eight points, five assists, three steals and two blocks.

Bellingham junior Abby Morrel came off the bench to lead her team with 11 points. Senior Malia Hanks scored eight points, and junior Lily Jude finished with seven points.

The Spartans proved to be too much for a Whatcom County team for the second consecutive time this week, as this time it was the Golden Eagles that fell to defeat on the road.

Junior forward Jilly Fox fought hard inside for her 10 points, 14 rebounds and five steals, all of which led Ferndale.

Junior guard Kayla Washington added seven points and four steals, while going a perfect 4-for-4 from the foul line, and sophomore guard Brooklyn Larrabee had four points, five rebounds and three steals.
