Hernandez

The Lyncs kicked off their season in grand fashion by defeating the 4A Vikings at home.

Junior guard Estela Hernandez had the shooting touch as she nailed 4-of-6 from beyond the arc, and led Lynden Christian with 16 points. She also led defensively with three steals.

Senior forward Allison Shumate was a force on the glass with seven offensive rebounds, and 10 rebounds in total, and junior Ella Fritts added 16 points and six rebounds while also hitting clutch free throws down the stretch.

Senior guard Danya Dykstra also had eight points, nine rebounds and six assists.

Soares

The domination continued for sophomore forward Rebeca Soares as she posted 38 points, 20 rebounds, six steals, three assists and three blocks to lead the Mountaineers to the road victory.

Despite picking up two fouls in the first quarter, and sitting out half of the fourth quarter, the 6-foot-2 sophomore was still able to lead her team in every statistical category, while also shooting 13-of-18 from the floor, and 11-of-12 from the foul line.

Freshman guard Kailyn Abitia finished with nine points, seven rebounds, four steals and three assists, and junior forward Reace Brown added nine points, five rebounds, two assists and two steals for Mount Baker who is now 3-0 on the season.

Jude

Junior guard Lily Jude enjoyed a career-night as she led her team with 18 points, seven steals and three assists, while shooting 7-of-9 from the field and 4-of-4 from the foul line.

The Bayhawks began the game on a 16-0 run and never looked back from there.

Sophomore forward Merritt Jensen had 13 points and five boards, and junior forward Mary Lockhart added 10 points and two blocked shots.

Bellingham was able to force a running clock late in the third quarter, and empty its bench in the process.

Rabang

The Blackhawks struggled against the taller Braves and took the home loss.

Lummi Nation was down by five entering the second quarter, but La Conner went on an 11-0 run which forced numerous timeouts.

The Blackhawks battled back in the second half, and was down 34-30 with five minutes left in the third quarter, but that was as close as they would get.

Ailina Rabang led Lummi Nation with 14 points, on 5-of-10 shooting, and she also grabbed seven steals and five rebounds. Kashlyn Mack had nine points, and Jemma James added eight points while LaRaya Dennis pulled down a team-high six rebounds.
