Nooksack Valley 53, Lynden Christian 45
In a battle of two 1A state powers, the district championship lived up to the billing.
A layup by Lync senior Tabby DeJong game Lynden Christian a 37-31 lead with 1:27 left in the third quarter. That was when the Pioneers flipped the momentum.
For the next seven minutes and 25 seconds of game-time, Nooksack Valley went on a 17-0 run before holding on to win and punch a ticket to the state tournament.
Senior guard Devin Coppinger made 13 out of her 14 attempts from the foul line, and finished with 21 points and nine rebounds to lead the Pioneers.
Senior forward Tana Hoekema added 14 points, seven rebounds, three assists and two blocks.
LC junior Grace Hintz scored 17 points, and she was followed up by DeJong who added 10 points on 5-of-7 shooting.

Meridian 40, Blaine 38
A close game throughout, with both teams knowing that losing would end their season, there were eight lead changes, but the last one was the most important as Trojan junior Brooklyn Fuller found senior Malia McCauley underneath the hoop for a layup to take the lead with seven seconds left in the game.
Borderite senior forward Jordyn Vezzetti nailed a corner three-pointer with 49 seconds left in the game to give Blaine a 38-34 lead, but Meridian was able to tie the game with a Taya Benson free throw, which was followed up by a steal and a three-pointer by freshman Maddy Swanson.
Swanson finished with a team-high 14 points and nine rebounds.
Vezzetti scored 15 points and grabbed 12 rebounds for Blaine.

Squalicum 46, Sedro-Woolley 30
The Cubs held a one-point advantage after the first quarter, but the Storm had a big second quarter and went into the locker room with a 22-15 lead.
Squalicum continued to add to its lead in the second half, and won the loser-out contest against Sedro-Woolley at home.
Senior guard Makayla Heaton led the charge for the Storm with 13 points, seven assists and seven steals, all of which were team-highs.
Seniors Mari Binning and Caitlyn Richardson each added nine points for the victors.

Lynden 60, Sehome 20
In the semifinals of the 2A district tournament, the Lions showed their overwhelming power early by roaring out to a 21-1 lead after one quarter of play.
From there, Lynden kept the pressure up and allowed the Mariners to make just 16% of their field goals.
Sophomore forward Payton Mills shot 8-for-13 from the field and finished with a game-high 18 points and 11 rebounds for the Lions.
Junior Kiki York, sophomore Rian Stephan and freshman Finley Parcher each scored nine points for Lynden.
Sehome senior Natalie Brewer led her team with six points scored, on a pair of three-point shots.
