After winning two straight 2A district tournament games to keep their season alive, the Mariners season came to a close in the final game of the tournament and just missed out on going to the state tournament.

Sehome knocked down big shots early on and led 9-2 halfway through the first quarter. The Mariners finished the first with a 14-11 lead.

The Wildcats began their comeback in the second quarter, and a 12-0 run gave them a decent lead before going into the locker room with a 34-24 advantage at the break.

The Mariners had trouble shooting in the second half, and just didn’t have enough left in the tank to recapture the lead.

Senior guard Madi Cooper led the way with 13 points and four assists, while senior forward Natalie Brewer finished with 10 points, 10 rebounds and two steals.

Senior guard Kylie Watson hit three of her five 3-point attempts and ended with nine points, four rebounds and two assists.
