The Mariners held a slight 13-10 lead after the first quarter, and built it to a 32-20 lead at the half. However, Sehome’s dominance came in the second half when it outscored Blaine 26-6.

Senior guard Madi Cooper led the Mariners with 17 points, and she was followed closely by senior guard Emmy Hart who buried four 3-pointers for 12 points.

Senior forward Natalie Brewer also contributed 11 points for Sehome.

Senior forward Jordyn Vezzetti led the Borderites with eight points, and freshman guard Marcella Bring came off the bench and connected on a pair of three-pointers just before halftime to score six points.

  • Lynden 70, Ferndale 20

The Lions forced 19 turnovers, and also forced the Golden Eagles into taking tough shots as the Lynden defense did what it does on the road.

Sophomore forward Payton Mills shot 9-of-12 from the field for the Lions, and she finished with a team-high 21 points and 12 rebounds.

Freshman guard Finley Parcher added 19 points, eight rebounds, seven steals and four assists.

Naomi Stanley scored six points to lead Ferndale.

  • Burlington-Edison 59, Bellingham 22

The Tigers looked strong at home as they led 23-5 after one quarter of play, and continued to dominate throughout the rest of the contest.

Avery Manning, Lily Jude and Mary Lockhart each scored five points to lead the Bayhawks.

Junior guard Malia Hanks added four points, three assists and three steals.
