  • Squalicum 6, Burlington-Edison 2

The Storm scored early and often to keep their season alive. Freshman Siri Hoglin scored the first goal of the game, and it was quickly answered by the Tigers.

Sophomore Arya Sabado kept her hot streak alive when her goal gave Squalicum a 2-1 lead, and that was followed up by three more first-half goals for the Storm.

Junior forward Kiarra Voigt scored on a line-drive shot that hit the crossbar and sneaked in, while junior Ava Simons scored from close range and Iyla Holley scored off of a corner kick.

Hoglin then scored her second goal of the game in the second half to help increase the lead.

 

  • Sehome 2, Lynden 1

When Mariner junior Keira Reeves scored the first goal of the game on a free kick just minutes in, it ended up being extremely crucial against the top seeded team in the tournament.

The Lions tied the scored at 1-1 just 10 minutes later when junior forward Meg Clarke tapped in a goal from short distance.

After a scoreless overtime period, the 2A conference championship needed to be decided in a shootout.

There were numerous makes and saves by both squads, but when Sehome sophomore Kaitlyn Schroeder booted the ball into the net it gave the Mariners the conference championship as well as a trip to the state tournament.

 

  • Bellingham 3, Archbishop Murphy 0

Bayhawk senior Ivy Newell scored a pair of goals to lead her team past the Wildcats, and keep Bellingham alive in the district tournament. The Bayhawks also received a goal from senior Gracie Gouran.

 

  • Nooksack Valley 3, Blaine 0

The Pioneers kept their season alive by eliminating the Borderites in the final game of the 1A district tournament, and will face University Prep on Saturday at Sammamish High School for a chance to go to the state tournament.

Nooksack Valley sophomore Gretchen Elmendorf scored the first goal, and she was followed up by freshman Khloe Mora on an assist from freshman Jessica Kingma. Elmendorf then scored the third goal of the game on a penalty kick.
