FERNDALE 3, LYNDEN CHRISTIAN 1

Reyes

In a great defensive battle, that featured a lot of long rallies, the Lyncs bested the Golden Eagles in the first set 25-20, but Ferndale evened it up in an extremely close 27-25 win in the second set.

With the matched tied at one set each, Golden Eagle senior Mariah Reyes went to the service line, and helped her team go on a big run, which caused Lynden Christian to call a timeout. Ferndale went on to win that set, 25-16, and duplicated the score in the fourth set to take the win at home.

Sophomore Brooklyn Larrabee had another huge outing for the Golden Eagles with 31 assists, 11 digs and nine kills, and she was joined by senior Olivia Copps who finished with 16 digs, seven kills and two aces.

Meyer

The Ferndale defense played huge all night, thanks to the efforts of Caitlyn Berg (18 digs), Katrina Ferry (12 digs) and Kaylie Carver (10 digs), while sophomore Svetlana Baydak led the offensive attack with 12 kills.

Junior Ellie Meyer led the Lyncs defensively with 16 digs, while also picking up a pair of aces. Senior Danya Dykstra had six kills and two blocks, and junior Alli Wright had a team-high 3.5 blocks to go with five kills and three aces.

 

MERIDIAN 3, OAK HARBOR 1

Pap

After dropping the first set on the road 25-16, the Trojans came together as a team to defeat the Wildcat in three straight sets, 25-18, 25-13 and 25-21.

Junior Gracie Pap’s left handed attack was in full service as she totaled 12 kills with a .241 hitting percentage, and sophomore Eden Bernardy nearly pulled off a triple double with 11 kills, 16 digs and seven aces.

Also putting forth huge numbers were freshman Melanie Short who had 14 kills, as well as seniors Rylan Bernardy (41 digs) and Grace Wells (42 assists).

 

LAKEWOOD 3, SQUALICUM 1

Roselli

The Storm fought back after losing the first two sets, 25-23 and 25-3, to take the fourth set 25-22, but fell to the Cougars on the road 25-16 in the fourth set.

Sophomore Alyssa Roselli led her team with 18 assists to go along with nine digs and an ace, and junior Jolie Paz added nine kills, 11 digs and an ace.

Sophomore Bronwyn Jones had a team-high 13 digs, while sophomore Penelope Durias and junior Archer Burns finished with five kills each.
