SEHOME 3, ANACORTES 1

Adams

The Mariners battled a few mental errors early and dropped the first set 25-23 to the Seahawks. After regrouping, Sehome came back to win the next three sets 25-18, 25-13 and 25-22.

Junior outside hitter Bridgette Adams was locked in with 16 kills and a .438 hitting percentage to lead the offensive attack. She was joined by junior Hayden Niewiadomski who finished with 12 kills, and senior Emmy Lee who handed out 34 assists.

Sophomore Paige Flory racked up seven aces at the service line, as the Mariners compiled 18 aces as a team, and the defense was led by junior Makenna Andrews who had 12 digs and senior Leah Lockwood who registered three blocks.

 

SQUALICUM 3, SEDRO-WOOLLEY 2

Jones

The Storm lost the first set 28-26, and then fell to the Cubs 25-17, but the ability to comeback never left the Squalicum unit as it batted back on the road to win the next three sets, 25-22, 25-20 and 15-10.

Sophomore libero Bronwyn Jones flew around the back court to pick up 17 digs in the marathon match, which enabled the Storm to stay alive, and junior Archer Burns had team-highs with 11 kills and two blocks.

Senior Jazzy Bersola and sophomore Alyssa Roselli each had 18 assists, with Bersola also picking up four aces with her trademark line-drive serve.

Junior Ella Insera added nine kills, while junior Hannah Warner had eight kills and sophomore Penelope Durias finished with six kills, three aces and 13 digs.

 

LYNDEN CHRISTIAN 3, OAK HARBOR 2

Dykstra

In one of the closest volleyball matches of the season so far, the Lyncs outlasted the Wildcats on the road.

Oak Harbor took the first set 26-24, and Lynden Christian won the second set 25-20. The Wildcats took the advantage with a 25-23 win of set three, but the Lyncs won the next two, 25-13 and 15-13.

Junior Alli Wright had a huge impact all over the court as she finished with seven kills, 2.5 blocks, five digs and three aces, while junior Ella Fritts did the same with six kills, 2.5 blocks, six digs, three aces and 38 assists.

Senior Danya Dykstra added a team-high nine kills, and junior Etta DeJong complimented the balanced attack with eight kills. Sophomore Lyla Parriera also had a team-high 13 digs.

 

LAKEWOOD 3, BELLINGHAM 0

The Bayhawks fell 25-11 and 25-9 in the first two sets on the road.

Bellingham battled tough in the third set, and led 18-16 at one point, but ultimately fell 26-24.
