MERIDIAN 3, BLAINE 0

Pap

The Borderites started strong, and forced the Trojans to take a timeout when they were down 14-10 in the first set, but Meridian rebounded to defeat Blaine 25-21.

The Trojans then went on to defeat the Borderites 25-14 and 25-20 to take the match.

Harrington

Meridian freshman Melanie Short led her team with 12 kills, to go along with five digs. Sophomore Eden Bernardy added seven kills, as well as team-highs in digs (12) and aces (4).

Junior Gracie Pap added five kills (.444 hitting percentage) and two blocks, and senior Grace Wells had 27 assists.

Blaine sophomore Teia Dube showed her high-flying abilities at the net with seven kills, while senior Kaitlyn Harrington added six kills and a team-high 14 digs.

 

LYNDEN 3, MOUNT BAKER 0

Hermanutz

The much taller Lions proved to be too much at home against the Mountaineers as Lynden beat Mount Baker 25-16, 25-20 and 25-17.

Junior outside hitter Rian Stephan went on the attack and finished with 13 kills and four aces, both of which led her team, while also picking up 10 digs.

Nutting

Junior libero Campbell DeJong had a big night with 15 digs, as sophomore Lexi Hermanutz had nine kills and freshman Izzie Stephan had 24 assists.

The Mountaineers were led by junior Amariah Nutting who had five kills and a .235 hitting percentage, as well as the steady passing of junior libero Kylee Bruland.

Senior Kennedy Rathjen and junior Kaia Gesmundo each had three aces to lead Mount Baker.

 

ANACORTES 3, LYNDEN CHRISTIAN 1

Wright

The Lyncs took the first set on the road 25-23, but fell in a very close second set 25-23. The strong serving of the Seahawks allowed them to take control in the next two sets, as they won 25-12 and 25-9.

Junior outside hitter Etta DeJong had another strong outing with eight kills, while junior Ella Fritts finished with 24 assists, four aces, eight digs, four kills and 1.5 blocks.

Junior Alli Wright led with two blocks, while also picking up three kills, and sophomores Lyla Parriera and Ellie Pierce each had eight digs.
