LYNDEN CHRISTIAN 3, FERNDALE 1
The Lyncs started the round robin tournament by defeating the Golden Eagles by an identical score of 25-15 in each of the first two sets. Ferndale came back to take the third set 25-22, before the Lyncs closed out the match with a 25-23 win.
Lynden Christian was led up front by senior Sydney Terpstra who led with 11 kills, and junior Etta DeJong who added 10 kills. 6-foot-2 junior Alli Wright added eight kills and three blocks at the net.
Sophomore libero Lyla Parriera dug out 21, 6-foot-1 sophomore Jocelyn Eshuis added three blocks and junior Ella Fritts had 36 assists, eight digs, two blocks, two aces and three kills.
The Golden Eagles were led by senior Lay Williams who had nine kills. Junior libero Katrina Ferry had 24 digs and senior Gabby Lenssen had four aces.

There was little time to rest for the Golden Eagles, as next up were the Eagles who finished with a 5th place trophy in last year’s 1A state tournament.
Cedar Park Christian defeated Ferndale in three straight sets, 25-19, 25-20 and 25-17.
Ferry had 15 digs and three aces, while senior Terrace Hendrickson and sophomore Svetlana Baydak each had eight kills.

The Eagles stayed hot, and defeated the Lyncs 25-16 in the first set before holding off Lynden Christian 27-25 in the second set and 25-23 in the final set.
Wright had a team-high 10 kills to go with her three blocks, while Parriera (14 digs), Fritts (11 digs) and DeJong (11 digs) played tremendous defense.
Junior Ellie Meyer served up four aces to lead the team, same as the first match.
