Winter

The Mariners were extremely efficient in their three-set win over the Borderites, 25-13, 25-10 and 25-14.

Harrington

Junior Hayden Niewiadomski had eight kills with a .500 hitting percentage, and junior Anya Winter added six kills with a .455 hitting percentage. Niewiadomski added a team-high four aces.

Senior Leah Lockwood was also extremely strong at the net with six kills and 3.5 blocks, with senior Emmy Lee adding 18 assists and junior Makenna Andrews totaling 12 digs.

Blaine was led by senior Kaitlyn Harrington who finished with five kills and nine digs, as well as sophomore Teia Dube who added five kills and seven digs.

 

LYNDEN 3, FERNDALE 1

Parcher

The Lions were tested by the Golden Eagles in the first set, but came out on top 27-25, and followed it by winning 25-14.

Ferndale fought back in the third set at home, and came away with a 25-23 win, but Lynden closed it out in the fourth with a 25-17 victory.

Sophomore Finley Parcher was on fire with 20 kills, a .395 hitting percentage and 18 digs to lead the way for the Lions. Junior Rian Stephan served up a team-high six aces to go along with her 14 kills and 10 digs.

Ferry

Freshman Izzie Stephan put her hitters in great position all night with 41 assists, while also picking up 11 digs, and junior Campbell DeJong turned defense into offense quickly with 21 digs.

Ferndale was led by junior libero Katrina Ferry who had 22 digs, and sophomore Brooklyn Larrabee who finished with 16 digs, 21 assists, three kills, three aces and 1.5 blocks.

The Golden Eagles also received six kills from seniors Terrace Hendrickson and Lay Williams, as well as sophomore Svetlana Baydak. Junior Caitlyn Berk added five aces, and seniors Amelie McKeon and Gabby Lenssen combined for 3.5 blocks.

 

ANACORTES 3, NOOKSACK VALLEY 1

DeHoog

The Pioneers started out hot, and a block from sophomore Elizabeth DeLange turned into the winning point in the opening set which Nooksack Valley won 25-21, but the Seahawks turned the tables with a huge comeback in the second set to win 25-22.

Anacortes then went on to win the next two sets 25-19 and 25-23 to take the home win.

Junior Grace DeHoog racked up 15 kills and 15 digs to lead the way for the Pioneers, and she was closely followed by DeLange who had 13 kills and three blocks.

Junior setter Payton Bartl added 33 assists and four aces, while junior Annie Stremler also served up four aces.

Junior Avery Juergens finished with 14 digs and junior Gracie Rutgers totaled 10 kills.

 

OAK HARBOR 3, MOUNT BAKER 0

Jewell

The Mountaineers dropped three straight to the visiting Wildcats, 25-9, 25-13 and 25-17.

Mount Baker got stronger in each set, thanks to the relentless defensive efforts which came from seniors Cailyn Jewell and Kennedy Rathjen. Jewell finished with three blocks, and Rathjen led with nine digs.

Junior Kaia Gesmundo finished with three kills, while senior Annalee Cohn had five assists and sophomore Rebeca Soares added three blocks.

 

BURLINGTON-EDISON 3, BELLINGHAM 0

Van Leeuwen

Coming off their first conference win of the season, the Bayhawks faced a tall task by traveling to Burlington-Edison to take on the top-ranked Tigers.

Bellingham fell 25-14, 25-11 and 25-17.

Junior Mary Lockhart led at the net with five blocks to go along with her four kills, and fellow junior Olivia Siemanowski had a team-high five kills.

Junior Sadie Hanley added 10 assists, and senior Ophelia Van Leeuwen had a team-high eight digs.
