MARYSVILLE-GETCHELL 3, BELLINGHAM 1

The visiting Chargers got up early on the Bayhawks before taking the first set 25-14, and it was looking that way again in the second set.

Knutsen

Bellingham went on a run in the second, and an ace by junior Jayda Knutsen scored the 25th point to even the sets up at one apiece.

Marysville-Getchell went on to win the next two sets 25-21 and 25-19 to complete the victory.

Bayhawk freshman Sonoma Smith had a great overall game with seven kills, 12 digs, one block and an ace, while Knutsen led her team with 10 kills to go along with her eight digs and one ace.

Bailey Burge added 14 assists and 10 digs in her debut as the varsity setter, and junior Mary Lockhart added four blocks in the middle.

 

LA CONNER 3, BLAINE 1

The Braves won a tightly contested set 25-22 to open up, and the Borderites evened it up in the following set by winning 25-16. However, Blaine went on to drop the next two sets, 25-22 and 26-24, and ultimately took the loss on the road.

Harrington

Blaine senior Kaitlyn Harrington played a well-rounded game with 13 kills and 34 digs, both of which led her team.

The Borderites also got great contributions from sophomore Teia Dube who finished with 12 kills, 21 digs, three aces and two blocks.

Senior Brie Smith added 38 assists and 21 digs, and junior Hannah Phelps-McDonald dug out 22 and had a pair of aces.
