MERIDIAN 3, LYNDEN CHRISTIAN 0

Benson

The Trojans had a great start, and defeated the Lyncs 25-15 in the first set. Lynden Christian battled back but still dropped the next two sets 25-18 and 27-25.

The Trojans served up seven aces on the night, and put together some strong runs. Freshman Melanie Short led with three aces, as well as 16 kills, and sophomore Eden Bernardy

DeJong

also had nine kills, two aces and a team-high nine digs.

Junior Taya Benson added three blocks at the net to go with three kills, Gracie Pap finished with eight kills and Grace Wells had 34 assists.

The Lyncs were led by sophomore Ellie Pierce who led with 10 digs and three aces. Junior Ella Fritts had 21 assists and Etta DeJong had a team-high six kills.

 

LYNDEN 3, BLAINE 0

McVie

The Lions continued their greatness in the Northwest Conference by defeating the Borderites on the road 25-16, 25-23, and 25-13.

Lynden junior Reese Nyhoff served up five aces to lead her team, while the sophomore middle-blocker combination of Lexi Hermanutz and Sarah McVie combined for 11 kills and a .400 hitting percentage.

Dube

Sophomore Finley Parcher and junior Cambell DeJong each had 11 digs, and Parcher also had a team-high eight kills.

Blaine was led by sophomore Teia Dube who had eight kills and eight digs. Senior Brie Smith and junior Paige Dominick each had a pair of aces, and senior Olivia Price had two blocks.
