FERNDALE 3, SQUALICUM 2

Copps

The Golden Eagles outlasted the Storm in five sets, and Ferndale’s Brooklyn Larrabee was one kill away from a triple-double as the athletic sophomore totaled 41 assists, 13 digs, nine kills and three aces. Senior Lay Williams was strong up front with 14 kills and three blocks.

Bersola

Senior Olivia Copps led her team with 16 digs, and junior Katrina Ferry was close behind with 13 digs. Freshman Adelle Overson added seven kills and 2.5 blocks, while senior Terrace Hendrickson had eight kills and senior Gabby Lenssen finished with three aces and two blocks.

Squalicum senior Jazzy Bersola played an outstanding game in her final regular season game as she finished with five aces, 24 assists and nine digs.

Junior Jolie Paz added 15 kills and 15 digs, and junior Archer Burns put forth 11 kills and 2.5 blocks. Sophomore Penelope Durias totaled eight kills and 16 digs, sophomore Bronwyn Jones had 12 digs and sophomore Alyssa Roselli had 18 digs and 15 assists.

 

SEHOME 3, MERIDIAN 1

Adams

In this highly anticipated battle between two great teams, the Trojans took the first set 25-22 at home.

The Mariners then rallied to take the next three sets, 25-15, 25-17 and 25-15.

Junior Bridgette Adams had one of her best games of the season as she totaled 15 kills with a .429 hitting percentage. She was joined at the net by senior Leah Lockwood who had 11 kills and junior Hayden Niewiadomski who finished with 10 kills.

Bressler

Lockwood also led her team with 5.5 blocks and Niewiadomski had a team-high 15 digs. Junior Makenna Andrews finished with 14 digs, and she was closely followed by sophomore Paige Flory who had 13 digs, while senior Emmy Lee handed out 34 assists to go with her three aces.

Freshman Melanie Short led Meridian with 17 kills, while also totaling eight digs. Senior Grace Wells finished with 31 assists, and sophomore Eden Bernardy led her team with 12 digs.

Senior Rylan Bernardy served up four aces, while juniors Chloe Bressler and Taya Benson each had a pair of blocks, and junior Gracie Pap had five kills and a .625 hitting percentage.

 

NOOKSACK VALLEY 3, BELLINGHAM 1

Bartl

The Bayhawks narrowly took the first set 28-26, before falling to the Pioneers in the following three sets, 25-13, 25-16 and 25-23.

The junior combination of Payton Bartl and Grace DeHoog was lethal all night as Bartl totaled 40 assists, and DeHoog was the recipient of the majority of them as she ripped off 25 kills. DeHoog also finished with 15 digs and three blocks, and Bartl led with four aces.

Sophomore Elizabeth DeLange was close to flawless as well with two aces, a perfect serving percentage, 11 kills, a .579 hitting percentage and two blocks.

Sophomore Karson Olney also worked hard in the back court as she finished with 15 digs, and junior Gracie Rutgers finished with eight kills and eight digs.

Stats from the Bayhawks have yet to be obtained.

 

OAK HARBOR 3, BLAINE 1

Smith

The Wildcats came out strong at home, and won the first two sets 25-12 and 25-9.

The Borderites showed grit in the third set, and ended up on top 25-22, but ultimately fell to Oak Harbor 25-13 in the fourth set.

Senior Brie Smith led her team with 10 assists and three aces, while also totaling seven digs. Fellow senior Kaitlyn Harrington led with nine kills and 13 digs, and sophomore Teia Dube had five kills and six digs.
