ARCHBISHOP MURPHY 3, SQUALICUM 0

Bersola

It was a rough opening night at home for the Storm who found themselves down early before dropping the first set to the Wildcats 25-7.

Squalicum did, however, improve throughout the evening but still lost the next two sets 25-11 and 25-17.

The Archbishop Murphy defense worked to perfection as it blocked numerous kill attempts from the Storm, and the Wildcats also picked their spots and used tremendous placement to use touch kills which helped build their lead.

Squalicum junior Jolie Paz led her team with eight digs, and she was followed closely by senior Jazmin Bersola who finished with six digs, along with an assist and an ace, and junior Gwen Foy who had five digs.

Sophomore Alyssa Roselli led with three assists, while the Storm got kills from Paz and fellow junior Archer Burns, as well as sophomores Penelope Durias, Carli Kiesau and Bronwyn Jones.
