Junior shortstop Gunnar Tweit singled home freshman Jad Geiger in the top of the third which gave the Mariners an early 1-0 lead, but the Bearcats answered in the bottom of the third inning, and took the lead in the following inning. Geiger and Riley Carlson each pitched three innings, and combined to give up just three hits in the tough luck loss.
