The Bayhawks cruised for the first five innings. They had scored four runs, they hadn’t given up a run, it was going to be a great end to an amazing week of Bellingham baseball. And then, the top of the sixth inning happened. The Chargers ripped off seven runs, and took command of the game, and the Bayhawks didn’t have an answer in the bottom of the inning. Luckily, there was still one inning left to play. Joe Harward came in to pitch the top of the seventh, and although he walked two batters, he was able to get out of the inning unscathed. Down 7-4, in the bottom of the seventh, Eli Goodbuffalo led off the inning with a single to right field. Ryan Neem then singled, and C.R. Griffith walked to load the bases with nobody out. Marysville-Getchell went to the bullpen, and the new arm walked Jasper Love which scored a run for Bellingham. With the bases still loaded, Tobias Lamb hit a grounder to the third baseman who promptly threw the ball home to get the force out at the plate. That was when Eric Helfield came up to the plate and tripled to right field which cleared the bases and won the game, giving the Bayhawks their fourth win in a row.
