The Blackhawks won the rubber match against the Hawks, and repeated as district champions in the process after holding off a strong comeback from Tulalip Heritage.

Lummi Nation used a strong second quarter to propel toward a double-digit lead at the half, but the Hawks got the game as close as three points with a little under three minutes to go, and that was when sophomore guard Dyson Edwards buried a three-ball from the left wing.

A close-range bank shot from sophomore center Deandre James gave the Blackhawks a 49-41 lead with 1:30 left in the game, and forced a Tulalip timeout.

The Hawks were able to score a few more times, but the damage had already been done, and junior point guard Jerome Toby nailed three out of four free throw attempts down the stretch to put enough distance in the scoring column.

Toby finished with a team-high 19 points, while Edwards and James added 10 points each.
