Gilstrap

The Mountaineers got off to a hot start, and made four 3-pointers in the first quarter, but the Bulldogs were able to methodically come back in the second half to take the home win.

Senior forward Darius Gilstrap led Mount Baker with 19 points on 9-of-14 shooting, despite sitting much of the first half after getting into early foul trouble.

Sophomore center Kell Reardon came off the bench to record nine points and 13 rebounds, and junior guard Carter Hill poured in 16 points for Mount Baker.

The Mountaineers will host Blaine on Monday night in a play-in game for the district tournament.

The Cougars kept it a single-digit game through the first half until Lync senior guard Gannon Dykstra banked in a 30+ foot buzzer beater at the end of the first half, which gave Lynden Christian a 44-33 advantage.

From there, the Lyncs outscored Lakewood 40-24 in the second half to close out the regular season with an unblemished record at home.

Dykstra finished with 31 points and five assists on 9-of-17 shooting from the field and 8-of-9 from the foul line.

Sophomore forward Kaden Veldman added 16 points, eight rebounds and two blocked shots, and sophomore guard Dawson Hintz finished with 15 points and three assists.

The Blackhawks continued the steamroll through the district playoffs after beginning the game on a 21-0 run.

Junior point guard Jerome Toby finished with 15 points, five assists and four steals to lead Lummi Nation.

Sophomore guard Landon LaFontaine drained four of his seven 3-point attempts and ended with 14 points scored, and fellow sophomore guard Dyson Edwards totaled nine points and five assists.

Senior forwards Trevon Lee and Andrew Tageant combined for 18 points.

The Cubs came to town and spoiled senior night for the Borderites by shooting a hot 49% from the floor and forcing 18 turnovers.

Blaine senior guard Josiah Weeda led his team with 12 points, six rebounds and three steals.

Senior guard Beckum Bleazard added 10 points, and junior forward Landon Melton finished with six points and three blocked shots.

The Mariners struggled with the overall size of the Tigers, as Burlington-Edison blocked seven shots down low.

Because of that, Sehome had to rely on outside shooting, and struggled to connect as the Mariners made just two of their 20 attempts from beyond the arc.

Junior forward Xavier Kelley led Sehome with nine points, nine rebounds and two steals, and junior guard Nolan Wright added seven points and four assists.
