Koenen

The Lions found themselves in unfamiliar territory at halftime, as they were trailing the Trojans 32-29, but a strong third quarter put Lynden over the top as the undefeated Lions remained that way after a hard fought battle on the road.

Strong Meridian defense limited Lynden’s opportunities early on, and shots just weren’t falling, but in the third quarter, just when it was needed the most, sophomore guard Malachi Koenen kept draining three-pointers which got the Lions back in the game.

Koenen finished with a career-high 16 points.
