The contest remained quite even over the first five minutes of play, with the Lyncs holding an 11-10 advantage, but the Lynden Christian offense started to kick into high gear after that and finished the quarter on a 21-3 run. The Lyncs then scored 27 points in the second quarter, and were up 59-24 at the midway break before cruising to their 17th win of the season.
Without two players from the starting lineup, LC still found ways to score points, and leading the way was Whatcom County’s leading scorer, Gannon Dykstra, who finished with 25 points on 9-of-18 shooting.
Sophomore guard Dawson Hintz scored 20 points, and senior guard Carter Ahlers finished with 17 points, four assists and four steals.
Sophomore forward Kaden Veldman had 11 points, eight rebounds and five steals, and junior guard Eli Maberry knocked down three of his four 3-point attempts and he posted 11 points and five assists.
