After last year’s matchup, that came down to a single point, the Lions were ready to write a different story, racing to a 19-3 run in the first quarter. At the helm of the charge was the 11 points and trio of three-pointers from Brant Heppner. The senior forward ended the game with a season-high 39 points and three more 3-pointers.
The Lions collected 20 and 23 points across the next two quarters to maintain their lead as their defense shined on the other side of the ball. With a 28-point lead heading into the fourth quarter, Lynden was able to call the numbers of their bench and secure the revenge win.
Alongside Heppner, junior forward Ty Jorgenson contributed 12 points, seven rebounds and six assists. Freshman guard Jayden Navarre had nine points on a perfect 3-of-3 from the field, and junior guard Spencer Adams had seven points.

The Trojans jumped out to a double-digit lead after one quarter of play when senior guard Jaeger Fyfe buried a straight away three-pointer from 26 feet out.
The Mountaineers went on a few runs over the next two quarters, and were down just eight points going into the fourth, but were only able to come up with three points in the final quarter as Meridian captured the road win.
Senior forward Talon Jenkins led the Trojans with 18 points and 16 rebounds, and Fyfe added 17 points, five assists and three steals.
Senior center James Hedahl finished with 11 points and seven rebounds for Meridian.
Mount Baker was led by senior forward Luke Smith who had 12 points and six rebounds. Sophomore center Kell Reardon had nine points, eight rebounds and five blocks.

He might usually be the tallest player on the court, but don’t let that fool you as Bayhawk senior Kincade VanHouten has guard-like skills, and he showed it on the road last night as he connected on five 3-pointers and finished with a game-high 30 points to lead his team to the victory.
The 6-foot-5 senior spread it out the entire game as he scored at least seven points in each quarter.
Bellingham senior sharpshooters Harmon Wienkers and Gabe VanHofwegen scored 16 points each, and they combined for seven 3-pointers made.
Pioneer senior Caden Heutink kept his team in the game with 27 points, and he made nine of his 10 free throw shots.
Senior center Brady Ackerman added 14 points in the paint, while senior forward Tristan Kamphouse finished with 11 points and senior guard Cory Olney had 10 points.

The Blackhawks started fast, and finished even faster as they finished the Mount Vernon Christian Tournament with a 3-0 record.
Junior point guard Jerome Toby did a little bit of everything as he finished with 24 points, eight steals, seven assists and seven rebounds, while also shooting 12-for-13 from the foul line.
Sophomore guard Dyson Edwards added 17 points, five steals and four rebounds, and sophomore center Deandre James was a perfect 5-for-5 from the floor with 10 points, and a team-high nine boards.
