Junior forward Eddie Briseno scored three goals and assisted on another to lead the Lions back into the win column. Freshman Markus Koenen had two assists and one goal, and older brother Malachi Koenen also had a goal and an assist. Junior Branden Gonzalez had a pair of assists, and Lynden also got a goal from senior Victor Huaracha.

 

Meridian 6, Mount Baker 0

Damion Hayes scored a pair of goals to lead the Trojans past the Mountaineers on the road. Meridian also got goals from Skyler Rowe, Carter Nichols, Luis Camacho-John and Adrian Meza. This was Mount Baker’s first game of the year against a varsity opponent.

 

Sehome 1, Bellingham 0

The city rivalry renewed last night as the Mariners squeaked out the win with a first half goal from Rudy Zurcher on an assist from Blake Moore. The Bayhawks best chance to tie the game came later when a shot hit the crossbar and almost went in but it was saved by Bane Mitchell.

 

Lynden Christian 3, Blaine 2

A hat trick by sophomore Harvest Howell allowed the Lyncs to pick up the win at home against the Borderites. Jackson Yun assisted on two of the goals. Blaine received goals from Christian Sanchez and Dima Yuryev.

 

Squalicum 0, Burlington-Edison 0

The Tigers, who hadn’t won a game yet this season, played up to their opponents and finished with a scoreless tie at home against the Storm.

 

Sedro-Woolley 2, Ferndale 1

The Golden Eagles got a goal in their first possession of the second half from sophomore Ahanu Fasani to tie the game at 1-1, but the Cubs scored a late goal and came away with the victory on the road.
