The Golden Eagles was sharp early on the road by scoring three runs in the first inning, and adding another two in the third when Kaelin Blakley homered to center field. The favored Bulldogs got on the scoreboard in the bottom of the third inning with a one run, and another in the following inning. Blakley led off the top of the fifth with another laser shot over the fence which gave Ferndale a 6-2 lead, but Mount Vernon was able to push across six runs over the next two innings, and the game went into the seventh with the Bulldogs leading 8-6. Sianna Bob singled home Blakley in the seventh to bring it to a one-run game and a double by Kate Johnston scored Bob and Ari Gilday to give the Golden Eagles the lead. That was followed up by a 2-run homerun from Amaya Chervenock, and the momentum was quickly on the side of Ferndale. Maddy Slevin then scored on an error, and a double from Bob scored Blakley and Hannah Swan to give the Golden Eagles a six-run lead. The Bulldogs threatened in the bottom of the seventh, and scored three runs, but that would be it as the Golden Eagles came out victorious.

Pitching and defense shined throughout the contest as the Lions got on the scoreboard first when Melanie Anderson walked in the top of the third, stole second, stole third and then scored on an error. Emily McVie then singled home Rebecca Powell in the following inning to give Lynden a 2-0 lead, which held until the bottom of the sixth inning. After the first two batters struck out in the bottom of the sixth, it looked like the inning was over after the third batter struck out but was then able to advance to first on a dropped third strike. That was all that was needed for the Tigers who followed that up with a two singles and a homerun. Those were the only three hits that Callie Ramerman allowed as she struck out 12 batters and walked just one.
