The Wolverines came out fast and scored four runs in the first inning, but the Mountaineers countered with three in the first, four in the third and and seven in the sixth to take the home win to start out the season. Sophomore pitcher Kara Welters settled down after the first inning and went on to strike out 11 batters. Second baseman Zaida Haynes had three hits to lead Mount Baker, while also scoring twice and knocking in two runs. Catcher Gracie Zender also added two hits and two runs scored, and first baseman Maddy Junquist had two hits, with one of them bouncing off the center field wall.

The Trojans rattled off at least five runs in each of the first three innings, and then scored 10 in the fourth to put the Bayhawks away. Center fielder Natalie Schultz hit for the cycle, scored five runs, drove in five runs, walked twice and stole a base to lead the Meridian offense. Freshman pitcher Addy TenKley had five hits and five runs batted in to go along with six strikeouts in three innings of work as she picked up the victory in her varsity debut. Sydney TenKley also drove in five runs and scored four more. Bellingham was led by center fielder Aaliyah Erickson who had a team-high three hits, as well as leadoff hitter Cassie Berwick went 2-for-4 with a triple.
