The Borderites practiced patience and were awarded with 13 walks, which turned into runs in every inning and another victory to start the season. Third baseman Maddie Musto led the offensive attack with two hits and four runs batted in, and Mesa Puls tripled and scored three runs. Brie Smith also had a pair of hits, and scored four runs, while freshman catcher Courtney Roff celebrated her birthday in style by scoring three runs. Puls picked up her second win of the season, and Shaylie Daniels pitched the final two innings and struck out six batters. The Bayhawks were led offensively by leadoff hitter Cassie Berwik who went 2-for-3 with a run scored. Sammy Stormo and Oliva Favro each doubled, and Eden Johnson excited the home crowd with an inside-the-park homerun.
