The Mountaineers scored five runs in the bottom of the second to take a 6-4 lead, but the Crimson Hawks unleashed 10 runs in the top of the third jump out ahead and they never looked back after that. Junior Zaida Haynes went 2-for-3 with a double and three runs batted in to lead the Mount Baker offense. Senior Gracie Zender also had a pair of his as her and sophomore Kara Welters each scored a pair of runs.

The Mounties bounced back from their early morning loss and scored 12 runs in the top of the fourth to take the win over the Cadets. Mount Baker got doubles from Kara Welters, Grazcie Zender, Zaida Haynes and Alyssa DeRoco to help power their team to victory. Welters also knocked three runs in. DeRocco and junior Maddi Lewis each had three hits to lead the Mountaineers.

The Lyncs scored seven runs over the final three innings but weren’t able to complete the comeback at home against the Eagles. Kassidy VanSoest and Alivia Brink each had a pair of hits for Lynden Christian, while VanSoest and Kortnee Tolsma each drove in two runs and Taya Vander Kooi and Hannah Terpstra each scored two runs as LC fell to 0-3 on the season.

Nooksack Valley 16, Friday Harbor 1
The Pioneers were behind 1-0 after two innings, but stormed back to score 16 unanswered runs in the following four innings to stay unbeaten in the early part of the season. Kestyn Wagter had three hits and drive in four runs to lead the Nooksack Valley offense, as it also got a trio of hits from Payton Bartl, Alayna Dykstra, Shelby Mason and Gracie Rutgers. Wagter also picked up the win in the circle in relief.

The Lions led 2-1 when the Wildcats ripped off six runs in the bottom of the third inning to break the game wide open. Catcher Rebecca Powell blasted a homerun to lead off the second inning on a full count, and Sarah McVie scored on a groundout off the bat of Melanie Anderson. Powell led Lynden with two hits.

Shorecrest 9, Sehome 8
The Mariners lost a heart breaker as the Scots came back in the final inning and walked it off to end the game. Shorecrest led 5-0 after two innings, but Sehome tied it up in the top of the fourth inning when Rebekah Peterson hit a double that scored J.J. Lewis and Jordan Walker. The Mariners scored three more runs in the top of the sixth, and it was highlighted by a triple from junior pitcher Sarah Kruzich (her third of the year), which drove in Peterson. Kruzich led Sehome with three runs batted in.

Emma Johnson had a base hit, and the Bayhawks also reached base on walks from Cassie Berwik, Olivia Favro and Kassidy Homolka, but were unable to come across to score on the road against the Seahawks. Sammy Stormo struck out a pair of batters, but picked up the loss.

Coupeville 11, Meridian 0
After a scoreless first inning, the Wolves were able to put across a pair of runs in the top of the second, and went on to win the game on the road. Statistics have yet to be obtained for this game.
