Neither team had scored through the first five innings, but the Wolveriners changed all that in the top of the sixth when they pushed across three runs. The Golden Eagles answered back in the bottom of the inning when Hannah Swan scored from third base on a wild pitch. Ferndale then went into the bottom of the seventh down 3-1, and freshman Ari Gilday led off with a line-drive double to right field. Kate Johnston then walked, and represented the tying run. Johnston then stole second base, and two batters later Amaya Chervenock came in to pinch hit, and it couldn’t have been better timing as she singled to center field, which scored Gilday and Johnston to tie the game. Chervenock was able to advance to third base on the throw, and two batters later, with two outs in the inning, Maddy Slevin slugged the first pitch she saw into the outfield for a hit which scored Chervenock to win the game.

Game two had a complete different feel, as offense was a little easier to come by, and it was all Golden Eagles early as they scored the first 13 runs of the game. The Wolverines fought back, though, and scored three in the third, seven in the fourth, six in the fifth and five in the sixth to take a 21-16 lead. Ferndale closed the gap in the bottom of the sixth inning by scoring four runs to make it a 21-20 lead for Friday Harbor going into the final inning. The Wolverines added one more in the top of the seventh, and now the Golden Eagles were looking at the exact same scenario as game one, down by two in the bottom of the seventh. After a strikeout, Maddy Slevin walked, and then stole second base. Hailey Pavitt then singled on a ground ball to the shortstop, which held Slevin at second base. Kaelin Blakley was then intentionally walked, which loaded the bases with one out. Sianna Bob was up next and she tied the game on a single to left field, which scored Slevin and Pavitt. Following the second strike out of the inning, Ferndale was down to its final out and Kate Johnston delivered in the clutch with a hard ground ball into right field which scored Blakley to win the game.
