The Lions scored six runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to break up a 6-6 tie, which gave them enough breathing room to come away with the home win. Senior shortstop Melanie Anderson went 3-for-4 with a triple, three stolen bases and four runs batted in to help power the offense, while junior second baseman Campbell DeJong was a triple away from the cycle, had three runs batted in and scored three runs. Sophomore pitcher Callie Ramerman struck out 11 batters against a powerful Cougar offense.

Mariner junior Jacinta Lewis hit a walk-off three-run home run on a full count with the game tied at 5-5 in the bottom of the seventh to win the game at home. Sehome entered the bottom of the final inning down 5-4, but Greta Watson singled, and that was followed up by a walk from Lexi Monroe. Vanessa Anderson then was able to get on base after an error, which loaded the bases and brought up Lewis. Two pitches later, Watson scored on a passed ball to tie the game up, which led to Lewis’s heroics. Junior pitcher Sarah Kruzich struck out 13 batters, and hit her fourth triple of the season. The Trojans were led offensively by Lorelai Margeson who had two runs batted in.

The Mountaineers were down 3-1 after four innings, but then erupted for 17 runs in the top of the fifth inning, which included home runs from Gracie Zender and Alyssa DeRoco. Zender led Mount Baker with four runs batted in, and DeRoco added three runs batted in. Center fielder Jaydn Hoffman scored three runs, while seven other Mounties scored two runs each. Sophomore pitcher Kara Welters picked up her third win of the season while striking out four batters.

The Golden Eagle offense scored at least four runs in each inning as they took their second win at home in as many days. Second baseman Kate Johnston led the Ferndale offense with three hits, three runs batted in and four runs scored. Amaya Chervenock also had a pair of hits and two runs batted in, while Maddy Slevin, Heavens Jefferson and Addy Owings also had two runs batted in each. Ari Gilday and Hadley Pike each scored three runs, and Chervenock picked up the win in the circle. The Storm got a single and double from Keisha McCloud, as well as two runs batted in from Laela Staniford.

The Lyncs played well, but couldn’t overcome the defending 2A state champion Cubs on the road. Hannah Terpstra went 2-for-3 with a home run to lead the Lynden Christian offense. She also scored two of her team’s three runs. The Lyncs also got a hit from Taylor Craig, Brook VanLoo, Alivia Brink and Sara VanLoo.

Oak Harbor 14, Blaine 3
The Borderites struggled defensively and committed six errors, which opened the door for the Wildcats to put across numerous runs early in the game. Mesa Puls and Shaylie Daniels each had a pair of hits and run batted in to lead the Blaine offense. Freshman shortstop Courtney Roff also reached base twice and stole two bases.
