The Pioneers were down 6-0 after four innings, and scored twice in the fifth, and twice more in the seventh, but would be denied the win on the road. Kestyn Wagter was 4-for-4 at the plate to lead Nooksack Valley offensively, and Alayna Dykstra had a single, a triple and two runs batted in. Payton Bartl and Alayna Vanieperen pitched three innings each, and each struck out four batters.

After two scoreless innings the Bulldogs caught fire in the top of third and pushed across eight runs. The Lyncs answered with one run the following inning when sophomore Roxanne Lenning hit a homerun, but that would be the lone run for Lynden Christian. The Lyncs also got a double from Brooke VanLoo, and Kassidy VanSoest had a pair of singles.

Cassie Berwik led off the bottom of the first inning with a walk, and Sammy Stormo reached on a fielder’s choice, and then stole second base, but those would be the lone offensive highlights as the defending 2A State Champion Cubs won big on the road.
