The Borderites led 5-3 after four innings, but everything changed in the bottom of the fifth inning when the Golden Eagles went up to bat. Hannah Swan led off the inning with a bunt single, and that was followed up by singles off the bats of Maddy Slevin and Hailey Pavitt. With the bases loaded of left-handed hitters, senior catcher launched the first pitch she saw deep over the left field fence for a grand slam and Ferndale took a 7-5 lead. Kate Johnston later tripled in the inning which scored Sianna Bob and Amaya Chervenock. The Golden Eagles went on to score six more runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to pull away and capture their first win of the season. Blakley ended with six runs batted in, Sianna Bob also hit her first homerun of the season and freshman pitcher Charlotte Simon grabbed her first varsity victory in the circle. Blaine got a pair of hits from Courtney Roff, Mesa Puls and Maddie Musto.

The Pioneers remained unbeaten in the young season by pounding out 17 hits and scoring 17 runs in the home victory. Grace DeHoog went 4-for-4 with three runs batted in and two runs scored, and Gracie Rutgers was 3-for-4 with five runs batted in and three runs scored. Shelby Mason and Kenzie Likkel each scored a team-high four runs, and Kestyn Wagter got the win in the circle. Payton Bartl pitched the final two innings and struck out five batters. The Bayhawks got base hits from Cassie Berwik and Eden Johnson.
