Scott

Tough rebounding, forcing turnovers and terrific shooting led the Lyncs to victory as the entire team played extremely well throughout the game.

Lynden Christian do-everything guard Ella Fritts shot 6-of-9 from the field to lead her team with 15 points and six rebounds, and freshman guard Tyra Dykstra came off the bench to score 13 points.

Brown

Senior guard Danya Dykstra and junior guard Kayla Yun had three steals each to lead the defense, while senior forwards Alisa Scott and Allison Shumate scored eight points each.

The Mountaineers were led by junior forward Reace Brown who scored four points, and senior guard Faith Wilson who grabbed five rebounds.

Mount Baker sophomores Lily Reeves and Rebeca Soares snagged four rebounds each.

The Lyncs will now play Nooksack Valley on Saturday at 2:30 for the district championship at Lynden High School. The Mountaineers will also be at Lynden High School on Saturday morning and will try to keep their season alive as they battle Meridian at 11:00 in the consolation round of the district tournament.

DeHoog

After the score was tied 24-24 at halftime, the Pioneers took control of the third quarter and went on an 18-7 run, which proved to be the difference of the game.

It was also Nooksack Valley junior center Grace DeHoog that proved to be the difference as she scored nine of her game-high 17 points in the pivotal period. The county’s leading rebounder also snared 18 boards.

Junior guard Payton Bartl scored 12 points for the Pioneers, and she was closely followed by senior forward Kate Shintaffer who added 10 points and nine rebounds.

Short

Junior guard Chayleigh Davis led the defensive attack with seven steals.

The Trojans were led by freshman guard Melanie Short who scored 12 points. Senior forward Sofia Brooks added eight points.

Bowler

It was all Lions as they roared out to a 22-0 lead to begin the game and never looked back.

Sophomore guard Finley Parcher connected on 12 of her 14 shot attempts and finished with a game-high 27 points, seven rebounds and three steals.

Junior guard Degitu Bowler started in place of star forward Payton Mills who was out, and she scored 14 points on 5-of-11 shooting.

Hanks

Sophomore guard Lexi Hermanutz also reached double-digits in scoring with 11 points while also grabbing four rebounds and leading the team with six steals.

The Bayhawks got field goals from senior Malia Hanks, junior Abby Morell and freshman Elise Holland. Hanks also led Bellingham with six rebounds and two steals.

The Lions will now play Squalicum at 7:45 on Friday at Mount Vernon High School. The Bayhawks will also play on Friday and will try to keep their season alive as they go on the road to Anacortes at 6:00 in the consolation round of the district tournament.

Robbins

The Seahawks had possession for the final 12 seconds of the game, and were able to get a pair of three-point attempts in the air, but neither of them fell as the Storm hung on to pick up the victory at home.

Sophomore guard Lexi Robbins scored 15 points to lead Squalicum, and she was aided by sophomore forward Tiana Thompson who had nine points, 10 rebounds and two blocked shots.

Senior center Loretta Murphy-Kangas was also strong down low as she pulled down nine rebounds, as Squalicum outrebounded Anacortes 36-24.

The Storm will now play Lynden at 7:45 on Friday at Mount Vernon High School in the semifinal round of the district tournament.

Schroeder

The Mariners hung with the ultra-talented Wildcats throughout the first half, but Archbishop Murphy went on a 16-1 run in the third which helped separate themselves and pick up the win.

Sophomore forward Kate Schroeder had 14 points, six rebounds and two blocks for Sehome, and fellow sophomore forward Elyse Panagos added five points and a team-high nine rebounds.

The Wildcat defense forced 25 turnovers, and it was nearly impossible to overcome that.

The Mariners will now travel to Lakewood at 6:00 on Friday to take on the Cougars in the consolation round of the district tournament.

Fox

The Golden Eagles flew out to a 12-7 lead after one quarter, but the Hawks commanded the second quarter and led 25-18 at half time.

Mountlake Terrace outshot Ferndale in the second half and held on for the win.

Junior forward Jillea Fox shot 5-for-9 from the field and 6-for-9 from the foul line to lead her team with 16 points and seven rebounds.

Junior guard Kayla Washington finished with eight points, five rebounds and a team-high four assists.

Junior guard Abbey White had five steals and sophomore guard Brooklyn Larrabee nabbed four steals.

The loss ended the season for the Golden Eagles at 10-11.
