  • Lynden Christian 59, Nooksack Valley 30

Fritts

The Lyncs defense held the Pioneers to just two points in the second quarter, and finished the game by nearly doubling up Nooksack Valley to win the 1A girls district championship.

Lynden Christian was led by junior guard Ella Fritts who finished with 12 points, seven rebounds, three assists and three steals.

Senior guard Alisa Scott came off the bench to add 10 points and four rebounds.

DeHoog

The Pioneers were led by junior center Grace DeHoog who had team-highs with 10 points, seven boards and five assists.

The Lyncs will travel to King’s High School on Saturday to play a winner-to-state/loser-out game against an opponent that is yet to be determined. Nooksack Valley is still alive in the district tournament, and will face Meridian on Tuesday night at 6:00 at Lynden High School.

Fuller

The Trojans had a 17-2 second quarter surge and rode the momentum into the second half to keep their season alive against the Mountaineers.

Freshman guard Melanie Short had 12 points, four rebounds and two blocked shots, and senior guard Brooklyn Fuller finished with 11 points and five steals to lead the Meridian attack.

Sophomore forward Maddy Swanson added nine points and five rebounds, while sophomore forward Eden Bernardy had seven points and six rebounds, and senior forward Sofia Brooks finished with six points, four boards and four steals.

Soares

Mount Baker was led by sophomore center Rebeca Soares who led her team with 15 points, 11 rebounds, three blocked shots and three steals.

She was aided by senior Faith Wilson’s four points and four rebounds, and freshman guard Kalyn Abitia who had six rebounds and three steals.

The Trojans will try to keep their season alive on Tuesday night at 6:00 when they face Nooksack Valley at Lynden High School. The season for the Mountaineers came to a close.
