The Lions struck first, and went on a 6-0 run early in the first quarter, and finished the first with a six-point lead. Lynden senior forward Kiki York put a bow on the Lions 8-0 run at the end of the second quarter when her turnaround jumper from 19 feet out swished through the net just as the first half buzzer went off.

Shumate

Down 33-21, the Lyncs battled back in the third, going on an 8-0 run of their own and closing the score to within five points. However, the Lion defense, led by the eight steals and two blocks of sophomore guard Lexi Hermanutz, became the star of the show in the fourth quarter. Lynden allowed just two points before the offense charged ahead with 14 unanswered points to seal the victory over their crosstown rivals.

York finished with a team-high 14 points. Junior forward Rian Stephan scored 13 points, while sophomore guard Finley Parcher added 11 points.

Lynden Christian was led by senior forward Allison Shumate who totaled 14 points, including a pair of three-pointers, which happened to be her first two attempts of the season.
