Bowman

The Borderites led by double digits at the half, and the Wildcats came back strong in the third quarter, but Blaine was able to fend them off and pick up its first conference victory of the season.

Junior forward Aaliyah Bowman had eight points and nine rebounds for the Borderites, and junior guard Brietta Sandell had five points and five rebounds.

Sophomore guard Marcella Bring led Blaine with 10 rebounds, and sophomore guard Kate Koreski had four points, four rebounds and four steals.

Parcher

Swarming defense was the key for the Lions as they defeated the Knights at the ShoWare Center in Kent for their 35th win in a row.

Senior Kiki York put the clamps on King’s star Kaleo Anderson all game, who wasn’t able to make a field goal until the second half.

Lynden also got plenty of offense as sophomore guard Finley Parcher shot 9-for-16 from the field and finished with 19 points, five steals, four rebounds and four assists.

Junior forward Payton Mills wasn’t far behind with 17 points and five rebounds.

Sophomore guard Lexi Hermanutz caught fire early, and reached double digits in scoring early in the second quarter. She finished with 14 points of 6-of-10 shooting.

Jensen

The Bulldogs were extremely strong in the first half with their full court press, outside shooting and offensive rebounding as the Bayhawks were looking at a 29-16 deficit at the half.

However, Bellingham was able to break the press much easier in the third quarter, and went on a 10-0 run to bring the game within three points. Mount Vernon was then able to force multiple Bayhawk turnovers in the fourth and hit some clutch shots to grab the win.

Sophomore forward Merritt Jensen led Bellingham with 12 points and five rebounds, and senior guard Malia Hanks added nine points, eight rebounds and six steals.
