The Cubs had a big first quarter as they outscored the Bayhawks 20-10, and that was pretty much the difference of the game as Bellingham and Sedro-Woolley played rather evenly from the second quarter on.

Sophomore forward Merritt Jensen led the Bayhawks with 10 points and seven rebounds, while hitting her first three-pointer of the season.

Senior guards Malia Hanks and Jenny Ruano scored eight points each, with Hanks also totaling five rebounds and three assists, and Ruano grabbing four boards.

Junior forward Mary Lockhart added nine points and six rebounds, and hit her first deep shot of the year as well.

Turrell

The Bulldogs were victorious in the defensive battle against the Mariners on the road.

Both teams combined for 37 steals and 37 defensive rebounds, as shots were hard to come by.

Sehome freshman guard Taylor Turrell led her team with 19 points, six rebounds and six steals, and the Mariners also got six rebounds from sophomore forward Elyse Panagos and junior guard Keira Reeves.

Mariner junior center Aspen Barge also blocked five shots.
