The Mariners withstood a strong Bayhawk comeback and held on to win on the road against their crosstown rivals.
Sehome junior center Aspen Barge threw her own block party down in the paint as she blocked an incredible 13 shots in the contest, and also grabbed nine rebounds.
Sophomore forward Kate Schroeder led the Mariners in scoring with 15 points in 7-of-14 shooting. She also finished with five rebounds, five steals and four assists.
Bellingham sophomore forward Merritt Jensen led her team with nine points and 10 rebounds, and senior guard Malia Hanks added five points, 11 rebounds, five assists and five steals.

The Golden Eagle defense forced 37 turnovers as Ferndale grabbed the road win.
Sophomore guard Brooklyn Larrabee made seven of her 11 attempts and finished with 15 points, but she also totaled 14 steals, seven rebounds and seven assists to lead Ferndale.
Junior guard Abbey White finished with 19 points, six rebounds and four assists, and junior forward Jillea Fox posted a double-double with 12 points and 14 rebounds.
The Borderites were led offensively by sophomore guard Kate Koreski who scored 12 points. Junior forward Aaliyah Bowman led Blaine with five steals, while Bowman and sophomore guard Marcella Bring led with eight rebounds each.

Lakewood 65, Mount Baker 39
The undermanned Mountaineers fought hard, but weren’t able to stop their six-game losing streak as they fell to the Cougars on the road.
Lakewood dialed it up from long range, and was able to connect on nine 3-pointers.
Mount Baker was led by junior forward Reace Brown who finished with 11 points and eight rebounds, as well as senior guard Faith Wilson who had 11 points, five assists and four steals.
Senior forward Zoey Evans and sophomore guard Lily Reeves finished with five points each for the Mountaineers.
