Although she averaged just over two points per game over the entire season, she almost doubled that average in the second half of the season as her confidence, as well as her opportunities, grew.
She also put up eight points against Burlington-Edison in a close 62-60 loss, as it showed the growth of the Mariners throughout the season who had lost to the Tigers in game three by 52 points.
Sehome finished with a 5-15 record, and was unable to make the district tournament.

2008-09 SEASON STATISTICS
2009-10 Season
It was a much improved season for the Sehome Mariners in Wilkerson’s junior season.
They hovered around .500 for the majority of the season, and wouldn’t be denied a trip to the district tournament.
Big wins against Bellingham, Ferndale, Meridian, Nooksack Valley and Blaine early on helped Sehome’s chances.
But, it was a giant 50-47 win in overtime against Lynden that propelled the Mariners into postseason contention.
Wilkerson scored nine points in the victory, and followed that up with a seven-point performance in another big win, this time against Mount Baker.
Sehome opened up postseason play with a 52-36 win over Granite Falls, in which Wilkerson scored 11 points.
The Mariners then fell to Burlington-Edison, but bounced back with a 52-38 win over Sultan behind Wilkerson’s season-high 12 points before being eliminated by Squalicum.
Sehome finished with a 10-14 record, and Wilkerson averaged 4.8 points per game on the season. She also averaged 8.5 points per game in the postseason, showing that she always played her best when it mattered most.

2008 Season
Even as a freshman, most coaches and players around the Northwest Conference knew about the talent that Wilkerson possessed on the diamond.
And if they didn’t, they found out rather quickly.
She went 2-for-4 with three runs scored in her debut in a 16-5 victory over Bellingham.
She had another multi-hit performance, with two doubles, in a 3-2 win over Ferndale, and she exploded with four hits, five runs scored, five runs batted in and her first varsity home run in a 25-5 win over Bellingham.
She went on to have seven more games during the regular season in which she had multiple hits.
Sehome went on to finish sixth in the Northwest Conference, and as a result they faced Sultan in a “play-in” game to get to the district tournament.
She went 1-for-1 with two runs batted in and the Mariners won 10-0.
Sehome went 2-2 in the tournament, and finished in fourth place, just good enough to punch its ticket to the state tournament.
At state, she really put her stamp on her greatness, as she went 5-for-9 with two home runs, six runs batted in and five runs scored. Sehome ended up getting eliminated by River Ridge, 5-4, but its 3-0 victory over Ellensburg in the consolation round was the first fastpitch win in the state tournament in school history.
The Mariners finished 18-10, and Wilkerson was named All-Northwest Conference 2nd Team, as well as the Bellingham Herald All-Whatcom County 1st Team.
She batted .418 on the season with 11 doubles, two triples, four home runs and 26 runs batted in.
2009 Season
It was another hot start for Wilkerson, this time in her sophomore season, as she began the year going 8-for-12 in her first three games.
A mid-season stretch saw her go 7-for-11 against Lynden, Lynden Christian, Ferndale and Nooksack Valley, but the Mariners were only able to win one of those four games.
She ended the season on a tear, and that started with a 9-1 win over Squalicum in which she went 3-for-3 with a home run and two runs batted in.
She then posted multiple hits in the next five games, which included a home run and a triple in a 6-3 victory over Meridian.
A sixth place conference finish meant the same thing for Sehome, another play-in game. And this one would remain in the memories of all that were in attendance rooting on the Mariners.
With the score tied 1-1 against Cedarcrest, and Lilly Craker on second base, Wilkerson took her place in the batter’s box. Her double down the left field line scored Craker, and the 8-13 Mariners were moving on to districts.
A narrow 5-4 loss to Burlington-Edison followed, and Sehome then were eliminated 7-0 by Blaine.
Despite an 8-15 finish, the accolades for Wilkerson flew in. She was named All-NWC 1st Team, All-Bellingham Herald Whatcom County 1st Team and All-State Honorable Mention.
She was also invited to the Adidas Futures National Camp in St, Georgem Utah, which was reserved for the top 100 players in the nation that were unsigned and uncommitted to that point.
On the season she batted .459 with six doubles, two triple, two home runs, 16 runs batted in, 18 runs scored, 13 walks and 10 stolen bases.
2010 Season
An unstoppable season was ahead for Wilkerson in her junior year, as the Mariners jumped out to a 9-1 record at the halfway point.
Games were highlighted by her huge performance against Lynden (a triple away from the cycle and four runs batted in), as well as multi-hit games against Oak Harbor, Bellingham, Squalicum, Ferndale, Blaine, Nooskack Valley and Lynden Christian.
At the halfway point she was leading the entire conference in batting average, home runs, runs batted in and runs scored.
In the second half she went 3-for-3 with two doubles, a home run and five runs batted in, in an 11-0 win over the Storm.
That was followed up by a 4-4 effort against Mount Vernon in which she again was a triple away from the cycle and scored three of her team’s four runs.
She hit her fourth home run of the season against Mount Baker.
In the district tournament she collected five hits, two of which were doubles, scored four runs and knocked in three more.
The Mariners finished fourth in the district tournament, and were back at state.
After defeating North Mason 3-1 at state, Sehome dropped devastating one-run contests to Colville and Steilacoom, and were therefore eliminated.
After the season, Wilkerson was again named All-NWC and All-Whatcom County 1st Team, and was also named the Bellingham Herald Player of the Year. She would also be named All-State 1st Team, and later that summer she was selected as a Triple Crown All-American.
She batted .553 on the season with a .789 on-base percentage. She also had 17 doubles, one triple, four home runs, 38 runs batted in, 42 runs scored and walked 18 times.
2011 Season
What more could she possibly accomplish as a senior? She was the best player in the county, and in the conference. She was already All-State, and an All-American.
The only way for opposing teams to combat her greatness was to take the bat out of her hands.
It was a season of frustration as Wilkerson was intentionally walked 33 times, a Whatcom County record that will likely never be touched.
When she did get pitches to hit, which was rare, she still drove the ball over the place.
She batted .564 with nine doubles and five home runs. She knocked in 30 runs and stole 15 bases.
She picked up four hits in a must-win game against Mount Baker to close the season and get into the play-in game for the district tournament.
Sehome beat Sultan in the play-in game, 11-1, with Wilkerson driving in three of the runs.
In the Mariners’ four district games, Wilkerson reached base 15 times out of 16 plate appearances, but a 9-5 loss to Lynden kept Sehome from moving on to state.
She was finally named the Northwest Conference Player of the Year, and was the Bellingham Herald Whatcom County Player of the Year for the second straight season. She was also named All-State.
Fastpitch Career
It was one of the best high school fastpitch careers that a Whatcom County athlete has ever had. A career batting average over .500, along with 43 doubles, five triples, 15 home runs and 110 runs batted in. All this while rarely getting good pitches to hit. She accepted a scholarship to play at the University of Hawaii. She red-shirted her first season, and decided to transfer to Central Washington University. As a Wildcat she was twice named All-Conference 1st Team, and was also named All-American her senior season. In her college career she batted .370 with 26 doubles, 21 home runs and 107 runs batted in. She also stood out defensively as a catcher with a .985 fielding percentage while throwing out 81 base-runners.
