The Borderites continued to swing their hot bats in their second shut out win in a row. Senior Chase Abshere hit three line drives, including a triple to right-center field. Speedsters Colby Knutzen and Nick Gunderson each got on base three times, and scored all three times while senior Ben Wallen knocked in four runs. Wallen also pitched a complete game shut out, allowing just two hits and striking out eight. The Red Raiders got hits from Connor Anderson and Nick Posey.

Squalicum senior picther August Williams struck out seven batters, gave up just two hits and picked up his first victory of the season as the Storm handed the Cougars their first conference loss of the season. Senior Mitchell Sage led his team with three base hits, while Josh Boysen, Tate Carlson and Mason Binning each collected two hits. Boysen and Sage both scored twice. Squalicum continued to put the pressure on the bases, stealing five bases as a team. Williams and Binning each added a double. Sophomore closer Brad Whitman picked up his second save of the season.

The Lions kept a steady offensive attack throughout the game to beat the Mountaineers. They scored in each of the first five innings, and senior pitcher Preston King did the rest, as he struck out eight batter and threw the complete game shutout in 90 pitches. Senior left fielder Jack Doolittle hit his second home run of the season, and freshman left-handed hitting Cade Slayton hit a double and scored twice. Senior shortstop Brendan Kleindel picked up a pair of hits for the Lions. Baker was led by the two hits from senior Michael Kentner.

The Lyncs lost their fourth game in a row, and they were tied with Seahawks until the bottom of the sixth inning when the Anacortes bats came alive. LC’s Shale Whittern, Damyn Dykstra, Jake Terpstra and Luke Johnson were all able to pick up hits. Dykstra and Johnson each scored a run.

After losing to Sehome, it has been three straight shut outs for the Tigers, the team that most believe to be the favorites of the Northwest Conference. Like most teams that face Burlington-Edison, getting on base was a struggle. The Trojans got hits from Art Madrigal, Corey Hemenway and Andrew Kuljis. Junior pitcher Ryan Johnson allowed just four hits over four innings, but he walked six batters and hit five more.
