Meridian Coach Steve Slesk discusses the game plan with his team between innings.

Meridian 12, Mount Baker 10

B. Johnson
M. Kentner

It wasn’t the prettiest game. It featured 10 errors, 24 walks and six hit batters. In the end, it was the Trojans that outlasted the Mountaineers. Meridian took an early three-run lead after the first inning, but Baker scored one run each of the following three innings, and ended up scoring six runs in the fifth. Meridian countered by scoring seven a half inning later. Freshman Bryce Johnson picked up the win for the Trojans, despite walking seven batters. Mount Baker senior Michael Kentner led his team with three hits. Meridian (2-0) will travel to Sehome (1-3) on Wednesday, and the Mountaineers (0-3) will travel to Friday Harbor (1-0) to play a double-header on Saturday.
