Squalicum 4, Nooksack Valley 3
Storm senior Mitchell Sage started strong, had one rough inning and finished even stronger as he went the distance in a must-win game against the Pioneers. He gave up just five hits and struck out eight on the mound, and he also doubled down the left field line in the bottom of the fifth and went on to score the eventual winning run on a Mason Binning single. Nooksack Valley senior Evan Neitling, who has primarily worked out of the bullpen this season, battled Sage pitch for pitch. He pitched the complete game and struck out seven Squalicum hitters. The Storm (6-11) will travel to Sedro Woolley (14-2) to take on the Cubs on Friday, and the Pioneers (3-14) will host Blaine (10-5) on Friday.
