COUPEVILLE – It was big play after big play for the Wolves as Coupeville used a fast start to run past the Bayhawks 48-6 at Mickey Clarke Field on Thursday night.
Bellingham sophomore running back Tyler Frost was able to score on a 6-yard run in the first quarter, but that would be the lone highlight for the Bayhawks who dropped their fourth game in a row.
The Wolves scored all 48 of their points in the first half.
Frost led Bellingham on the ground with 88 yards on 15 carries. Senior Logan Steeves wasn’t far behind, as he carried the rock 13 times for 67 yards.
Steeves also led defensively, with 7.5 tackles and a pass broken up. Frost had five tackles from his middle linebacker spot, with one of them being for a loss.
Freshman Owen Hanstead was thrown into the mix, and did quite well. He completed four passes for 60 yards, had six tackles on defense and he returned three kickoffs for 43 yards.
Senior Lucas Cousens caught a pair of passes for 50 yards, and also had a tackle behind the line of scrimmage.
The Bayhawks (2-4) will be back home next Friday for Homecoming when they host Blaine (0-5) at 7:00 at Civic Stadium.
