BURLINGTON – Bellingham defeated Burlington-Edison 4-1 in a rain-shortened match. Louli Ziels, Emily Linton, Hope Macke and Britney Butcher won in straight sets as the Red Raiders swept all four singles.
Hannah Hodge and Amya Cook lost a close 3-set match at first doubles, and the teams of Hannah Reidel/Emma Kenoyer and Morgan Gass/Maren Nielsen-Thompson were unable to finish their matches due to rain.
“For a first match, I thought we played pretty well at every position, especially since the conditions weren’t ideal,” Bellingham coach Steve Chronister said. “It was fun to play against someone else and there were many good matches.”
The Red Raiders (1-0) travel to Lynden on Thursday to take on the Lions at 3:30.
