BLAINE – The final score was 65-0, but it wasn’t even that close. The Borderites had their way with Earl Marriott, blocking three punts, scoring a pair of special teams touchdowns and only having to run 26 plays offensively.
Sophomore William McKinney looked good in his first varsity start at quarterback, connecting on 6-of-7 passes for 60 yards and three touchdowns. He hooked up in the end zone with Jacob Westfall, Derek Machula and Chase Abshere.
Blaine also spread the ball around on the ground, getting scoring plays from Danyil Tkachov, Oscar Caridad, Westfall and Thaiyron Foeung.
The Borderite defense was as stout as ever, allowing just negative two yards of total offense.
Hudson Reid scored on a blocked punt and Machula returned the second half kickoff 83 yards for a touchdown.
Senior kicker Bryce Kamrath also broke the school record for extra points in a game with nine. The previous record was held by Kyle Sentkowski who is now kicking at College of the Siskiyous in Weed, California.
