PORT TOWNSEND – The Borderites rode the bus, took the ferry and then picked up the win as they defeated East Jefferson 48-13 at Jefferson County Memorial Athletic Field on Friday night.
Blaine had little trouble moving the ball, especially early on in the run game as junior running back Jaiden Paez scored two early touchdowns and racked up 70 total rushing yards on the first two drives combined.
The Borderites then went to the air and junior quarterback Colin Davis connected with senior wide receiver Justin Minjarez on a 67-yard touchdown pass which gave Blaine a 21-0 lead at the end of the first quarter.
Davis threw two more touchdown passes in the second quarter, as he connected with senior Tyler Bouma on a 9-yard slant, and he hit senior Jesse Deming on a 37-yard out-and-up.
Davis finished with 215 yards passing on the night, and Paez led the ground gainers with 124 yards on 11 carries.
Junior running back Colby Shipp found the end zone twice in the third quarter, and he finished with 62 yards on the ground on just six carries.
Senior linebacker Kale Pai led his team five tackles, including multiple stops for a loss, and junior cornerback Thomas Cox had an interception which he returned 25 yards.
The Borderites finished the season with a 3-7 overall record.
