EVERETT – The Seagulls got out to an early lead and never looked back as they topped the Golden Eagles 15-0 on Wednesday.
Kassidy Millar and Andrea Hedington combined for a one-hit shutout, and Everett was in control the entire game.
Ferndale sophomore Brianna Byrnes was 1-for-3 and stole a base, while fellow sophomore Kendal Smith walked twice. Junior pitcher Sydney Randall took the loss for the Golden Eagles.
Ferndale (0-2) travels to Lakewood (2-0) to take on the Cougars on Saturday at noon.
