BURLINGTON – Ferndale’s second game on the road on opening week went a little better than the first one, but still ended in a 12-2 loss at the hands of Burlington-Edison.

Ferndale senior Alyssa Berg knocked in sophomore Brianna Byrnes in the first inning to take an early lead, but the Tigers scored eight in the bottom of the second to take a firm grasp of the game.

Berg had another RBI, this time in the third inning, when her single scored Kendal Smith. Nicole Richards, Megan Solomon and Sydney Randall also had hit for the Golden Eagles.

Ferndale (0-2) will play at Lakewood on Saturday at noon.
