BLAINE – The Patriots scored touchdowns on each of their first three offensive plays, as Liberty took out Blaine 57-6 on Friday night and ended any hopes for a postseason berth.
Junior quarterback Will McKinney went to the air often, and completed 13-of-21 passes for 107 yards. He looked sharp on quick passes to the outside. Senior Zane Rector caught four passes for 37 yards, and sophomore Scott Baldwin caught three passes for 35 yards.
Senior running back Oscar Caridad finished with 51 yards on the ground, and scored the lone Borderite touchdown. He finished his career with 1671 rushing yards, which is eighth in school history.
Sophomore linebacker Spencer Dalry led the defense with five tackles, and the tenacity that he has played with this season will be something that Blaine will be able to build around for the next two seasons.
