YAKIMA – Over the years, Lynden Christian and King’s have had many memorable matchups in March, and this one belonged to the Lyncs, 69-44.

It was all Lynden Christian in the first quarter as the Lyncs began the game on a 20-2 run.

Sophomore guard Gunnar Dykstra, who came back last week after missing a number of games, got his shooting touch back and he made both of his 3-point attempts in the first half, and the Lyncs led 34-18 at the midway break.

It was more of the same in the second half as Lynden Christian outscored the Knights 35-26, and Dykstra kept bombing away as he finished with a team-high 18 points on 6-of-7 shooting from downtown for the game.

Fellow sophomore Kaden Veldman did his usual damage from the post position as he posted another double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds. He also blocked four shots.

Senior guard Gannon Dykstra added 10 points, and sophomore guard Dawson Hintz finished with nine points and 10 rebounds.

The Lyncs (23-2) now move onto the semifinal round of the state tournament tomorrow and will play at 9:00 PM against Royal.
